Whether it's a startup that needs a new name or a veteran company that could use a refresh, I'm passionate about building beloved brands. I love helping my clients find positioning that cuts through the clutter and discovering unique growth tactics to drive revenue.
My favorite part of the process is collaborating with founders, marketers, creatives and technologists to co-create brands that tell a story and connect with real people. I’m also a podcast host, Moth storytelling champion, creative writer + very grateful mom of two.
I started my career as a creative in advertising, concepting everything from TV commercials to large-scale, multi-channel campaigns. In the first 10 years of my career, I was recognized as one of AdFed's "32 Under 32," worked at one of Ad Age’s Top 10 Agencies to watch, had work featured in Archiver’s magazine, won multiple regional ADDYs and even scored an Effie. I then pivoted to writing for digital products, websites and apps.
In 2017, my husband and I created Fruitful Fertility, a peer-support fertility app that we grew to 6,000 users through community building, content marketing, social media, brand partnerships and organic press (The Los Angeles Times, Twin Cities Business Magazine, Business Insider). In 2021, we sold parts of the company and moved on to pursue different projects. Today I work as a freelance copywriter, creative director and growth expert. I also publish my own newsletter, The Elyse Edit.

Elyse Ash spent more than a decade as a copywriter in the ad industry working on campaigns. But she couldn’t shake the feeling that she wanted to have a bit more creative control than advertising was affording her.

I'm not really publishing much on Medium these days, but this website layout looked weird with only two boxes so this is the third box. Kthxbye!
